"Scold" Daddy

One day, Daddy was talking about not eating dinner, then he commented : "I'd better tell Auntie Michelle, otherwise she call me and scold 'Sir, are you eating dinner or not? Why never eat dinner never say?'" (imitating Michelle's angry tone)

Moses, when hearing it, told Daddy : "Aye Daddy! You don't quarrel!"

Year of the XXX

There was one day Ah Ma was talking to Moses and telling him he was a dog, Gor Gor was a goat, Ah Ma was a tiger, etc etc.

Moses laughed out loud thinking Ah Ma was talking nonsense.

Ah Ma : "You really are dog"
Moses : "Hahahaha I'm not a dog! I'm just a Moses!"

So Ah Ma decided to phrase in a different way...
Ah Ma : "You are born in the year of the dog"
Moses : "What is year???"
Ah Ma : "........"

Fever

Sometime last week, Moses was having fever.  I was sleeping with him one night, when he suddenly woke up and asked me to get out of bed.  When I asked him why, he said "I don't want you burn."  In his fever state, he must have dreamt of some fire stuff.  :P

Singing

There was one day Moses was feeling very happy and he kept singing.

While he was singing, I asked him "Where did you learn this song from?"
Moses : "School." ....and continued singing...
Me : "Who taught you?"
Moses : "Mrs Ko."...and continued singing...
I continued to ask some more questions then he told me "You don't talk!"

Oops!! I was interrupting his singing too much liao, tell me don't talk :P

However, Michael didn't like his singing at all and told Moses to stop singing
Moses replied "I want to sing.  So nice, the song."

But actually, all of us had no idea what is he singing about!

Language

Michael2
There was one day Michael was talking to me about Ben 10 (again...).  Then he commented one of the aliens was so lame.  I was so surprised he knew how to use the word lame!  I thought it was like teenage vocabulary??  :)  Anyway, I asked him whether he knew what it meant, and he said lousy.  Hmmm....ok.  I asked him where he learnt that from and he said his friend Mikael.

On another day, he was upset that he couldn't do his abacus work, then he scolded "Shit!"  I was shocked to hear him used the word and of course I scolded him.  My guess is he picked it up from the Daddy, but the Daddy says "It's me meh?  I got say that meh?"

I can't imagine what kind of language he'll use when he goes to primary school....please don't speak like some of my students.... :P

Who Should I Eat?

There was one day the Daddy was in a crazy mood again, and he said "I'm going to eat Mummy."

The boys all said "No!  Don't eat Mummy!!"

Daddy : "Then who should eat?  Michael?"

The boys : "No!!!"

Daddy : "Eat Moses??"

The boys : "No!!!"

Daddy : "Then I eat Mummy already...."

The boys : "No!!!"

This went on for a while.  Then suddenly Michael said "Ok ok, you eat Mummy!"

Everybody was like "Huh??  How come agree for Mummy to be eaten liao?"

Michael : "Eat the rubbish mummy, the one in the packet one."  He was referring to the Mamee noodle snack!  Not bad eh?  Can think out of the box   :)

Btw, this happened quite some time ago liao.  I suddenly remembered to blog about it cos I'm snacking on Mamee now :P

Go Hong Kong

Recently, Michael has been saying that he wanted to go to Hong Kong.  Being influenced by the brother, one day Moses told me "I want to go kampong."

Me : "You mean Hong Kong?"
Moses : "Ya!  Hong Kong!"
Michael (getting excited) : "Ya!  I want to go Hong Kong and take the Buzz Lightyear ride and shoot the bad guy Zurg!"
Moses : "Lizard?"

Hahahahaha!!!  People go Hong Kong and shoot Zurg, you go kampong and shoot lizard!

I Want to Go Primary School

One day, I was talking to the boys and telling them that they were changing schools next year.  I said that Gor Gor will be going to primary school already.  Then Moses remarked "I want to go primary school"

I then told him "You cannot.  You don't know how to read yet."
Moses : "I know!  A is 'a' " (he made the phonic sound for a)
Me : "Then B leh?"
Moses : "B is 'b' " (phonic sound for b)
Me : "How about C?"
Moses : "I don't like C"

Don't know already say I don't like!

Lying!

On Friday night, I had to bring Michael to see the doctor.  Moses was bugging me to bring him along and I said "No" and told him he could watch TV at home instead.  He asked "Can I watch Cartoon Network?" to which I replied "No, you watch Playhouse Disney."  Don't really like the small kid watching Cartoon Network as I feel that it's just full of violent cartoons (which he loves).  Playhouse Disney shows more wholesome (but boring :P) cartoons.

When I came back with Michael, we were at the doorway when I caught sight of the TV being at the Cartoon Network channel.  However, when we actually went into the house, the channel was switched to Playhouse Disney.

Apparently, when Moses heard me coming back, he told the maid "Mummy's back!  Quick!  Change channel!"

How am I going to teach this kid???

Excursion

Michael&Moses1
One of the Sundays, we brought the kids on an excursion to.......take MRT!

So pampered hor the kids, some people take MRT everyday, and Moses has never taken MRT in Singapore before!  Taking MRT can be considered an excursion!

Can also say easily satisfied?  :)  Moses only la....Michael made so much noise regarding going on an excursion to take MRT.  He complained "I don't want to go sit MRT.  So boring!"  He'd rather play with his scooter.

Anyway, when we actually went, he also enjoyed himself.  We drove to the housing estates nearby Tanah Merah MRT and parked there.  Then we took the MRT from Tanah Merah to Changi Airport.  The kids enjoyed buying tickets, tapping the cards and the ride itself.  When we reached Changi Airport, Moses asked "Next time we sit MRT again ok?"  He was delighted when I told him that we were going to take the MRT back later after dinner.

Here are some of the photos on the MRT.

In the pic on the left below, they were entertatined looking at their reflections in the glass :)

The following weekend, Moses asked "Can we go sit train?"

So Sadist

  • Sep. 26th, 2009 at 11:46 PM
Moses2

My little Moses, very sadist leh!  Why I say that leh?

Reason #1 :
Recently, the Daddy has been watching youtube videos about Britain's Got Talent.  In one season, there's this really talented girl called Hollie Steele who can sing beautifully.  But during her performance during the semi-finals, she was so nervous she broke down and cried.  After Moses watched the video, he kept asking to see the girl cry.  When I asked him why he liked the video so much, whether it's because the girl is pretty, or because she sing very nice or because she cry, he answered immediately "I want to see the girl cry."

Reason #2 :
His favourite book now is Snow White.  You may be surprised why a very boyish boy like him likes Snow White, it's because he always asks me to read the part when Snow White ate the apple and died!  And he only wants to hear that part!

Full of Excuses at 3 years old

There was one night when I told Moses to go and sleep while I bathed.  When I came out to check on him, he was out in the living room playing with his toy car!

I asked him what he was doing out there and he replied me "I forgot something."

Huh???  Forgot what??  Anyhow give excuse!

Apparently, before I came out, the Daddy already told him "Be a clever boy.  Go and sleep."  And he told his Daddy "But I not clever."  *fainted*

Anyway, I told him that if he didn't go to bed, he won't get to play with his scooter tomorrow.  He then replied "But I don't like scooter."

The next morning, when he woke up I told him that I was going to bring gor-gor to play scooter and he'll stay at home since he didn't like scooter.

He then replied me "I just funny."  (meaning he was just joking the night before when he said he didn't like scooter)

This boy.....

Snakes & Ladders

  • Sep. 16th, 2009 at 11:49 PM
Michael2
One afternoon, Michael requested to play Snakes & Ladders with me when Moses was sleeping.

My experience with the game so far with the 2 boys is they always get upset/angry/whatever when they come down the snake, or if they are not the winner.  So I've been telling and telling them that they are not suppossed to get angry la, it's just a game la, nobody wants to play with a sore loser la....etc, etc....

That day, when Michael was playing and he reached a snake, I heard him tell himself "Cannot angry, cannot angry."  He was in good spirits throughout the game, and even though I won twice, he didn't show any signs of unhappiness or anger at all.  I'm so proud of him!  He's growing to be more sensible!  :)

We want to go to....

Hong Kong!

Recently, the boys have been asking to go Hong Kong.  Michael said that he wanted to go for the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland again.

And Moses said he wanted to sit train.  I was wondering what train he was talking about and realised it was the MTR!  Alamak, Singapore also can sit MRT what!

I reminded Michael that last year after we came back from Hong Kong, he said he didn't want to go again cos he was so tired from all the walking (I have "evidence" in my blog about the HK trip :P ).  But he seems to have totally forgotten about the tiredness.  :P

Apr 09 Genting & KL Trip

  • Sep. 10th, 2009 at 11:05 PM
Michael&Moses1
In Apr 09, our family went to Genting and KL with Teddy, Edina, Esher and Nai Nai.  The kids were really happy about it cos they could go on a holiday together with Esher.

Before we left, Moses was especially excited going on the airplane.  As we were taking Tiger Airways from the Budget terminal, we had to go up the plane via a flight of stairs.  Moses was so excited he kept trying to cut queue, and kept trying to put his little foot onto the stairs even when there were still people in front of us.  Here's a pic taken on the airplane...

Edina had booked a van to bring us up to Genting.  Along the journey up, the kids watched DVDs on a portable DVD player.  Look how concentrated they are watching DVDs.

However, it was a BIG BIG mistake!  The journey up to Genting was very winding, so halfway up the hill, Michael complained of a very bad headache.  It was so bad he started to tear.  This was the state he was in when we reached the hotel in Genting (photo taken by Moses).

The first night, we just explored the place.  The second day, it was theme park time!  We bought a day pass that could let us enter the Outdoor and Indoor theme park.  Here are some photos taken at the outdoor theme park.  They had fun on the merry-go-round, ferris wheel and the boat ride at Dinosaur Land.

Then we saw some bumper cars and let the children try.  Moses sat on the same car as Esher and he was in the driver's seat.  When the bumper cars started, Moses' car just kept turning round and round and round, cos he couldn't control the car well.  The guy there helped Moses to move forward so his car started to move forward and....bumped into the wall.  The impact gave Moses a shock and he started to cry!  That explains why he looks so moody in the pictures below which is the ride we let him take after the bumper cars....

After lunch, they had some more fun at the teacups, kiddy version of the turbo drop, jet planes and playground!

By the time we got indoors, the kids were already so tired, so we ended up only taking 2 rides in the indoor theme park.  Aiya!  Shouldn't have wasted money to buy the 2 park ticket.  Should have just bought the outdoor park ticket...

After Genting, we went down to KL.  I disallowed any DVD watching this time, and played games with the children instead.

In Genting, we all stayed together in a very nice suite in Berjaya Times Square.  We didn't go about in KL much, just shopping at Berjaya Times Square.  The kids mostly had fun playing together in the hotel suite.  The activity they enjoyed most - playing in the bathtub together!!

Overall it was a good trip.  But on the last day, Michael was down with fever liao (maybe too much of bathtub :P).  Good thing it was already the last day....

Painting

Michael&Moses1

One of the days during the June school hols (haha now Sep school hols liao then talk about June school hols), I brought the kids to Parkway Parade to do their favourite painting activity.

This is the result.

Moses' one was done mainly by me, his main job was to choose the colours and squeeze a bit of paint.  But when he went home, he show off to Ah Ma and said "Look!  My painting!"

I commented "Done by me one la"
Ah Ma then asked Moses who did the painting.
Moses replied "Mummy and me."  Somehow he still must have a part.  :)

Ah Ma then commented how come Michael's painting all red and not colourful like last time.  Michael was quite upset with the comment and said "Spiderman is red one what.  This Ah Ma, don't know!"

June 09 Safra Chalet

Another long overdue post :)

CY managed to book a chalet at Safra mid June this year.  The kids were all excited at the chance of being able to stay together in a chalet again.

First night, they played hide-and-seek until don't want to sleep liao.  When 5 cousins are together, play anything also happy.  Gim Leng's kid also came to join the fun...almost didn't want to go home!

Second day, went for swim...ok, not swim, play water.  There was a fun water play area there and the kids really enjoyed it.  Also had a BBQ to celebrate Esher's birthday that night.  When it was time to cut cake, Moses positioned himself really near the cake.  I knew he was going to blow the candles out, so I purposely shifted him to the edge of the table.  After the birthday song was sung, he leaned over the table to blow out the candles!  Unstoppable candle-blower!

The kids also enjoyed playing Wii together, cycling on Esher's new bicycle, arcade, playground, more water play, more hide-and-seek, etc.  Here are some photos to see them having fun....

At the playground....I really like the expression of Moses in the last picture at the playground.

Cycling and Wii

Esher's birthday celebration

Water play!  Moses really loved going through the water spraying thingy and could go through it again and again...

Oh yes, it was Father's Day weekend when we were at the chalet, so the boys also prepared (with my help :P) ties for their Daddy....

June 09 Church Camp

  • Sep. 6th, 2009 at 11:35 PM
Michael&Moses1
Hee, this is a long long overdue posting about June church camp to Kuching.....

This year, our church combined with ABCC to go to Kuching for a church camp.  Our family had an adjacent room with Nai Nai and Auntie Hazel and the kids were delighted on being able run from room to room.  Auntie Linda couldn't go with us cos her passport renewal couldn't be done on time.  Ended up Grace's maid shared a room with Nai Nai.

Here are some of the photos taken there...

The kids enjoyed the playground there.  In fact, when there's playground, they'll usually be very excited about it and can play for a long time there.

Family picture taken at the function room.

Picture taken at kelong where we had dinner one night.

On one of the days, we went out on a day trip.  We visited the people who lived in longhouses.  Moses was pretending to sleep so that he didn't have to get up and walk.  Look at the way he closed his eyes...so fake!

Playing with "Moses' staff" at a pottery shop...

Posing for pictures in the bus....keeps them entertained for a while...

This is taken at the "er, I forgot what's the name" caves.  Moses actually managed to climbed the hundred-over steps by himself!  And Nai Nai too!  But after the climb, Moses was super super dirty.  His white pants all black!

Super-hero poses by the boys...

And my favourite, the boys sharing ice-cream and drinks with each other :)

Sibling Love

Moses was feeling really sick this morning and kept moaning "mucus mucus" in bed, so we decided to go to church without him.  Auntie Linda stayed at home to take care of Moses.

Michael was feeling sad that Moses wasn't able to go to church together.  He even commented "Who is going to fight Glen with me?"  Glen is this youth that they always pretend that he's the monster and the 2 of them will fight him together.

It was exceptionally quiet in the car this morning and when we reached church, Michael commented that the journey was "So boring."  Looks like he misses his little brother liao.

When we got home, usually the boys will fight on who gets to press the floor number in the lift.  But without Moses, Michael wasn't keen on pressing anymore.  Usually, he'll beat Moses to pressing the floor number and Moses will cry.  Hmm, maybe he misses the brother cos nobody to "bully"  :P

Hee, but they do play together very well, occasional fights and quarrels, but hey, that's part of "siblinghood".  Hope that the brothers will grow up close and love and take care of each other always :)

Different View

There was one Sunday when the boys were very keen to go cycling.  However, it was raining the whole afternoon.  By evening, the rain got less but it was still drizzling.  As the boys were still asking whether they could go cycling, I looked out of the window and told them "You see, so many people still carrying umbrellas.  So cannot go."

Michael looked out of the window and replied "You see, so many people not carrying umbrellas what!"

Hmm...starting to learn to twist the situation to his advantage?  :)
